Group Classes (5 weeks)
In the group classes, we will meet once a week for 2 hours for five weeks. I keep classes small (no more than 5 couples) to allow for a more intimate environment where everyone can get to know one another and I can guarantee plenty of one-on-one time with each couple. We will watch videos, share stories, discuss your plans and options and spend a lot of time practicing various relaxation techniques and other labor exercises. These classes will educate, support, and empower you with your faith and facts so that you can enter your birth experience feeling confident and supported.
This is a great option for those with a busy schedule, mommas on bed rest, or couples who just want a more private education experience. We will use the same Alpha Childbirth curriculum that is used in the group classes, but can customize the content based on your needs and interests. I generally schedule either 3 or 5, 2-hour sessions for private classes but additional sessions can always be added if more time is needed or desired. We meet at your home, or wherever is convenient for you. Private classes with fewer sessions are also an option as we can customize a class series that works best for you.
Online Private Classes (5 weeks)
If you do not have an Alpha instructor in your area but would like to take a class, here’s your opportunity! This is also a great option for couples who may be traveling or moving during their pregnancy and unable to complete a location-based class series. You will receive the same course material as group classes and private classes. In addition, you will have access to videos and other online resources for each week of the course that will help you to go deeper into the material. You will have 24/7 email support for the duration of the course. At the beginning of the course, we will schedule a 30-minute online consult where we can discuss course content, answer questions, and get you set up for your course. We will also schedule two additional one-hour online consults (one in the middle of the course and one at the end) as a time to answer questions, go deeper into your topics of interest, formulate a birth plan, etc. To take this class, you will need to have a computer or tablet with reliable internet and a camera.
