Each weekday on our FaceBook page you’ll find a prayer, reflection, or Bible verse centered around a weekly word. Each Friday we will share the recap of our FB posts here on our blog. Our hope is that we band together to devote our pregnancies, birth experiences and parenting to God our creator.
We want this to be a place for all of us to share our hearts, thoughts, blessings and challenges. Please comment and share so that we can together benefit from becoming #devotingmothers.
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good thing He planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10
Last week our #devotingmothers word was rooted. Like the deep, grounding roots of a big ol tree, we need to plant ourselves and our children deep in the truths of Jesus Christ. For the next few weeks we will look at some of the key root messages that as a momma I want to grow deep into my children’s precious souls.
First, I want them to know they are valued. To have a sense of self seen through the lens of God. I desperately want my babies to know that they are oh so important and cherished because God created them, and He did so with a purpose in mind.
You might feel worthless to one person, but you are priceless to another. Don’t ever forget your worth. Spend time with those who value you. -Anonymous
Want your kids to feel valued? It starts with you, momma. I don’t know who first penned today’s quote, but it’s powerful when we think of it in terms of our Heavenly Father.
You might feel worthless to one person,
but you are priceless to God.
Don’t ever forget your worth.
Spend time with God, who values you.
You have been bought and paid for by Christ, so you belong to him—be free now from all these earthly prides and fears. 1 Corinthians 7:23
We belong to Christ. He paid the ultimate price for us in giving up His own life so that we can be free from all earthly ties. We are valued because of what God was willing to pay for us! Even if your little one is not yet born, he or she is highly valued by our loving God. Think about that today and let the sacrifice and love sink into your soul.
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!
1 John 3:1
Thank you for sending your son, Jesus, down to earth to save me. My value rests in this truth alone! Today and everyday, let me live it out. Let me pass it on to my children. Let me show it in the way I love my babies, how I speak to them, in what I model in my own actions, and how I treat others. I am a valued daughter of God. Each of my children are precious to You, oh Lord.
Even when I mess up, I am of value. When I let You, or my family down, I am still cherished and loved. My children are valuable because you created them. Their value stands apart from their behavior, their outward appearance, or their abilities. It is in Christ’s sacrifice that we are valued. Praise Jesus!
“If only you could sense how important you are to the lives of those you meet; how important you can be to people you may never even dream of. There is something of yourself that you leave at every meeting with another person.”
– Fred Rogers (aka Mr. Rogers)
Remember today that you are very much valued.
